69 kickdown wire routing
so heres what i need to know now. what is the routing of the kickdown wire for the trans? best i can tell it goes out the firewall right there by the gas pedal. is this right? what about a grommet? there was not one on the harness and i am not seeing one listed in any catalogs. after that i figure it just sits in the hooks with the speedo cable. anyway thanks for the help and remember pictures are worth a 1000 words.
thanks
All my pictures from years went bye-bye last year ...
so much documentation lost. backup !!!
With the AIM and a shop manual or even a Haynes - most things are clear.
First, are we talking about a TH400 - the electrical wire ?
Maybe a 69 is different - but here's how my 75 goes:
The switch at the pedal connects to the interior harness.
This plug comes out of the harness between the drivers dash
wires and the center guage wires - two terminal plug.
The harness exits at the fusebox ... then an orange wire exits
the engine bay harness near the wiper motor. From there,
it runs parallel with the speedo cable as you describe and plugs
in just forward of the speedo gear housing.
I just ran that one two days ago.

the 69s are different though. the harness is completely seperate, but does plug into the underdash fuse box like the later cars. it is it's routing to the outside of the car down to the TH400 that i dont know.
i appreciate your help though. thanks
this does still leave me with two holes on the firewall down where the gas pedal actually attaches to the firewall. i cant find anything in the manual about it.
