Default 69 kickdown wire routing

ok this really sucks waiting on the assembly manual to arrive. it also sucks that i am having to put the car back together and the person who took it apart did not take good pictures. so let that be a good lesson to anyone doing major work. take lots of pictures for reference not only for yourself but for whoever might put it back together.

so heres what i need to know now. what is the routing of the kickdown wire for the trans? best i can tell it goes out the firewall right there by the gas pedal. is this right? what about a grommet? there was not one on the harness and i am not seeing one listed in any catalogs. after that i figure it just sits in the hooks with the speedo cable. anyway thanks for the help and remember pictures are worth a 1000 words.

thanks

Honestly, I find that it all falls pretty much into place.
All my pictures from years went bye-bye last year ...
so much documentation lost. backup !!!
With the AIM and a shop manual or even a Haynes - most things are clear.

First, are we talking about a TH400 - the electrical wire ?
Maybe a 69 is different - but here's how my 75 goes:
The switch at the pedal connects to the interior harness.
This plug comes out of the harness between the drivers dash
wires and the center guage wires - two terminal plug.
The harness exits at the fusebox ... then an orange wire exits
the engine bay harness near the wiper motor. From there,
it runs parallel with the speedo cable as you describe and plugs
in just forward of the speedo gear housing.

I just ran that one two days ago.

thanks for the reply. your right it does pretty much fall into place. my problem is lack of experience with the 68-72s that had so much vacuum operated stuff.

the 69s are different though. the harness is completely seperate, but does plug into the underdash fuse box like the later cars. it is it's routing to the outside of the car down to the TH400 that i dont know.

i appreciate your help though. thanks

well i was wrong. I finally got my build manual in and it is very similar to what you described. mine comes off the switch and plugs directly into the fuse panel. it does go out with the tach cable and oil sender line and down to the trans next to the speedo cable.

this does still leave me with two holes on the firewall down where the gas pedal actually attaches to the firewall. i cant find anything in the manual about it.
