do i need to buy a new breaker for my window fuse if the windows don't work.... or can i put a 30amp fuse in instead of a breaker?.... does the breaker reset itself?........
thanks
b
well, i got the windows to work but it seems that the passenger doesn't want to go up... i hear power going to it but it won't move.... also i realized that my relay was bad
If you hear the window motor running but nothing is moving, it is likely that the gear in the window regulator has lost a tooth or two. This is such a common problem that there are replacement gear teeth racks available that bolt onto the existing gear without requiring removal of the old gear. Check out Zip on the Forum or Bair's for these replacement gear racks.
Yes, the breaker does reset itself. On my '69, the breaker is on the firewall to the right of the brake booster close to the windshield wiper door vacuum relay. I think the wire to/from it is green and there are 12 volts present there at all times (don't ask how I learned that).
