offset shafts ??
Does anyone know what the offset is that is built into the
shaft on the "VBP " control arms ?
Thanks in advance to the person who knows this answer.
This is if you buy the shafts only. If you are getting the upper A-arms from VBP, the arms themselves allow for more caster.

" VBP" on Monday to find out.I just finished the install on the (BeCool ) huge raidator, refabricated electric fan mount, installed serpentine pulleys, fabricated upper hose to clear belt, adjusted exhaust as it runs under the rear -end,remounted spare tire carrier, fixed heat riser tube on intake, washed, vacuumed car out fast, put the top down, going to take a shower, and go get a bite to eat, then head to the local car show tonight.
.
What are you trying to do?? If you want more caster the hole can easily be milled 1/4 inch towards the front to allow the arm to be pushed reward increasing caster.
The offset arms allow more camber, negative camber that is, or positive depending on which way you put the arms in.
So if you want more camber without shims the offset arms work. If you want more caster, mill the slots.
The arms do not need to come apart to cut the hole for increased caster.
these things are offset off the centerline.I want to remove as many shims as possible, that is why i wanted to know what the offset is ,so i can rotate the piece that attaches to the car.anyway i have it together now with the spreader bar,and have not altered the camber .I will call on monday to ask what the things are offset off centerline.
If you install the shafts backwards it pushes the top of the wheel out causing you to need alot of shims to offset the offset.
I did an alignment for a guy recently that did the exact same things.
Offset shafts in 180 degrees wrong and a pile of shims.
Use a normal carpenters level and you want the top of the wheel about 1/4 inch maximum in when the level is plumb.
