Trying to clean up some of the old undercoating. Super chevy had a basic procedure like this:
1.) Heat lightly with torch in 6"x6" sections and use a scraper to get it off.
2.) brake cleaner and 3m stripping pads
3.) brake cleaner and shop towels
4.) final degrease and clean... prime then paint
I opted for a heat gun instead as it's a little safer in my hands and seems to do the trick on the frame... what about my wheel wells? I can't envision heat being good for the fiberglass at all.
Anyone strip the wheel wells? Might have to go the blasting route? Thanks for any advice!
Eastwood has a product in their catalog for this operation. I saw it recently but no longer have the catalog. I have not tried it so can't say how well it works. You might try to locate it on their website.

I took my spare tire carrier to the local sandblaster. He used a plastic media with some success on the undercoating there. Followed that up with epoxy primer and chassis paint.. came out great.
I used a heat gun and scraper on the underside of the fenders on my 64 and then went to wd40 and stripping pads. To keep from getting the fiberglass too hot, I kept one hand on the outside of where I was heating. I figured as long as it wasn't too hot for me to touch there would be no damage. It worked out just fine.
