Monroe shocks
Is anyone using Monroe shocks on their car? I just checked the price online for a set of Monroe sensatrac and it would cost me just at $100 for all 4. A set of Monroe Gas-Charged shocks would cost even less at $60 for all four.
I'm in need of some new shocks but don't have the budget for a nice set of Billsteins or other performance shock. But, I need something to smooth out some of the bumps.
Would these be suitable shocks or should I just save the money for now?

I put the Sensatracks on my wife's old Blazer - a few years back.
They sure smoothed out the sudden harsh bumps - due to
their bypass-valving.
If your springs are basically stock, I'd consider the GR2s.
They are a good bang for the buck - on stock suspensions.
Or - the Monroe gas-charged are probably very similar to GR2.
But, the answer is no - I don't have 'em on the vette ... always had
GR2s - and just bolted up a new set - despite the fact that the old
ones were still good.

They were on my '79 when I bought it, and I was going to purchase new ones because they rode so well, even with a worn out suspension. I've since gone totally aftermarket on the suspension and got Bilstiens. The Monroe's rode very well.

Monroe made a shock called the "Formula GP" that was a fantastic Vette shock, they are long gone just like the Gabriel Stryders of the 1970's which was also a great Vette shock. I have 2 rear Formula GPs in my garage, $25+shipping to anyone who wants them. The Mid America RCSI shocks are quite good for the $$$.

I have Monro's too, Replaced them only because my originals looked so bad when I was replacing the rear brake line.
