Default Adjusting fast idle? [Quadrajet, pics]

I have a problem with starting my vette, it runs perfect when warm and starts very easy. But when cold, I can start it easily since I mounted manual choke, but I have to hold the throttle in the garage to keep it from dying until its varm.

So basically, I set the choke to full, crank the engine, it starts but it won't survive without giving extra gas, same thing happens with or without the choke after it has started.
I suspect the fast idle, since I have understood that the fast idle is "active" as long as the choke is on?

But, how do I rise the fast idle? I've read that the screw should be in the area around the choke linkage, but I can't find any.

Drivers side:

Passenger side:

(my solution for manual choke wasn't there when this pic was taken)

Could someone please describe how I rise the fast idle on a carbureator like this one? Or tell me another solution.

Thanks,
Christian

Its on the passenger side. Behind the linkage--about where the black flat head screw is on your image. You ajust in from the front of the car--screw in for faster.

Ah thanks. But damnit, I've been there a few times desperate searching for a screw that could adjust it, I'm so sure I've looked everywhere, but I might have missed it. Have to check again.

Thanks for the answer!

I had to know, so I took a walk to the garage. Of course it was there, damnit, how could I have missed that one before?

Will test it out tomorrow. Thanks!

I like your rubber hose to the carb fuel inlet. I put on an aftermarket intake that was taller than the stock one and I had to bend the metal fuel pipe in order to get it to line up to the carb. The rubber hose looks like a better solution.
