You just can't win.
Anyway, the seat covers were in great condition, so I figured I wouldn't have to touch them. As I installed them last week as the final steps in my frameoff, I noticed this powder on the seat after sitting in it. As I touched ithe seats you could feel the foam crumble under the covers. It is the weave pattern seat cover, so the pulverized powder just comes through. When taking off the seat covers, the foam padding didn't look too bad. After struggling to get the new foam pad installed and the seat cover back on, the powder was still there. It appears that there is a thin layer of foam padding sewn into the seat covers themselves, and that was what was fallling apart. Big Bummer. I pounded for an hour with my rubber hammer hoping I could get all the foam powder out of the seat cover. No such luck. Looks like I will be in the market for seat covers in addition to the foam padding I already have.
Just thought you would like to know.
