Power surge at idle

PAGING LARS Or someone Power surge at idle
I had taken the top off the carb and put it back on. No adjustments made was trying to hook up choke and rod came unhooked. Now all of a sudden I have this power surge going on? With the car in gear and at an idle all of a sudden it feels like it wants to shoot ahead for a split second.Then it runs fine and does it again. Seems to run fine once off idle going down the road. What the heck? I wish I had that power all the time. What could be wrong now??? Thanks for any help Randy
