I've always heard that the trans mount should be equivalent stiffness to the engine mount. If the two must be different, then the trans mount should be the softer of two.
Is it worth it? Probably not, but that's what I've got! Went with poly engine mounts for less flex, so I figured I'd match the tranny mount.
I've also heard that the Energy poly tranny mount is too thick. I used a Prothane tranny mount and Energy engine mounts. No issues for me...
I thought I remember reading here awhile ago that the poly tranny mounts were not good to use b/c they were a different hieght than the stock rubber. Had something to do with the poly mount throwing the angle of tranny off and causing vibrations. Could be wrong though.

That is right. All it takes is about 3 degrees.....from norm......
The old one is, well, old and I'm not sure how that would affect the car.
How about causing your bellhousing to crack. I changed my clutch last month and found 2 big ole cracks in the bellhousing (no these cracks were not just casting marks). The engine builder I got my replacement bellhousing from said the most likely cause is a worn tranny mount. I replaced my stock hollow mount with a solid rubber one for like 6 bucks.
