VP products monospring conversion queston
Greetings, I justed installed the vp monospring conversion with matching lower a arms. Having troubles with ride height. no amount of bolt adjustment makes much difference. also the rubber bumper is only about 1-1/2-2" from the frame. Is this correct? I have the spring fulcrum bolt set in the 2 position from the out side. When I drive way tested i lost turning ratio capability compared to the factory system. help 1973 small block

vp monospring
To clarify this is the front monospring with vp a arms. I have the adjustable spring rate bolts in the 2nd posistion from the outside. I have 1 1/2" bolt thread above the lock nut. Note: ihave previously installed the dual mount spring kit on the rear with no problems

If you're talking about the bumper on the lower control arm, I have about 1/2", maybe 3/4" between it and the frame. As for the bolts that adjust the height, the ones at the end of the spring, I have about 1 1/2" to 2" of thread sticking up. If it weren't dark I'd take some pics of the Spring for you.

Transverse springs
I seemed to notice a difference in the steering also, after I installed the front VBP transverse.I can live with it ,but feel it should have had a little more thought input before marketing. The car rides very stiff now, adjustments set on softest spring rate. The car handles very
flat now.I have no problem with adjusting ride height.
On to the next project ???which one first???

vp mono spring
Yes, I torqued all fasteners to spec with the car on frame jacks, with the tires on blocks to take weight off the spring to work with it. the weight of the car was not on the tires, i but the weight of the tire, wheel etc. only thanx. sorry i can't do pics yet

To set this up rpoperly, I suggest the following:
1. Go to the archives and find the Greenwood series on Vette Improvement Program. Find the third or fourth in the series on suspension. It will explain the geometry of Z height associated with lowering.
2. Follow Greenwood's instructions.
3. Shave down the rubber snubber until you have the same clearance as before lowering. Shave it down so it has the same profile as original.
This will give you the proper amount of suspension travel before going "solid" to the frame.
4. Run this front spring with either Bilstein Sport shocks or the KYB GR-2s that VB has had specially made for this spring.
The softest setting on this spring is stiffer than stock OE for small block but softer than stock OE for Big Block.
If you are set up with the proper shock on soft spring setting, I suspect that the hard ride you report is due to your spring "grounding" on the frame so you have no spring action at all.
Dial this in as above and you will be very happy with it.
