Hello Everyone. I just got my 72 back from the shop. Basically, the work I had done, was a new radiator, headlight and windshield wiper doors, AC repair, tach, temp guage, carb. Well, I get the car back on Thursday, Friday I notice a little engine oil at my feet, on the floorboard, I thought it was some left over oil that one of the mecahics stepped in, so I wipe it off. The next day the carpeting is saturated on both sides of the console. I pull the carpeting back and notice engine oil is seeping in from somewhere behind the radio down the console and pooling on each floor board, underneath the carpeting. The engine oil dipstick is not registering a level, so it is coming from the motor and draining into the cab area of the car, I am baffled, I haven't been able to contact the mechanic to get his opinion. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on? Thanks in advance.
it's coming from your oil pressure line to your oil pressure gage. sounds like the line is severed. talk about a fine mess. did they take the bezel out to work on the temp gage? i bet they forgot to attach the oil line. take it back to them and have them fix and clean the fine mess
do not drive the car, have the shop send a flatbed to pick up the car
have all the carpet replaced at the shop's expense.it sounds like you just spent a ton of money for the repairs and they made a mistake
if they will not do this take them to court for cost of damage to repair.
and do not return to this shop unless they will take care of this problem
then let all of the forum members know if this is a good or bad shop to deal with.
