Default 75 frame for a 73?

Will a frame for a 75 work for a 73? How much different is it in back for bumpers? What is involved as far as modifications?

if you have the old 73 frame, you will need to swap out a few brackets and such, but that's it.

Not true the 75 and 73 frames are VERY different in the rear. The 75 is the first year for the bumper shock popckets built into the frame.

I put a 76 frame under my 73 the only diffrence is the last 16'' or 18'' in the rear. You may need to grind off the tranny cross member if going from auto to manual. I cutoff the 73 bumper mounts and installed on the 76 frame. Have Fun John

You'll need to swap over the rear-most section of the frame
where the bumpers bolt up. Not too tough a swap - but measure twice.
