just got a new spring from VBP,
can't believe how light it is,
the box was pretty badly bashed about, probably as it came over the pond,
the spring looks ok, is there anything i should check for before fitting it?????

yeah, make sure you use a quality gas shock. some argue that bilstein is the only way to go, but i'd disagree. KYB's are fine, Koni's are at the other end of the spectrum (price and features).

Spax work well with mine & Konis aren't such a bad price if bought here. Going by the ride of a couple of other Vettes I've been in, you're really going to like the improvement that the composite spring gives. Don't forget to measure the ride height before removing the current spring, just in case of any problems.

I bought VBP's offset trailing arms, powderpainted. They were not really very well packaged. When the box arrived, a part of one of the trailing arms was sticking out of the cardboard box. Inside the box, the powder painted trailing arms had banged against each other, chipping off pieces of the powder paint. I called VBP and complained. They offerred for me to return the trailing arms and they would send another pair. I declined. I didn't think it was worth the trouble. I covered up the chip marks with POR15. My purpose of complaining was just to let them know that someone in their shipping compartment wasn't doing their job. From what I can tell, their sloppy shipping person is still working there.
