Under the car the other day, by the rear end and some kind of bushing that fell out by the front of my differential, looks like it sits in that crossmember. Any ideas,I could take a pic if I have to.
Thanks! I just got this thing, would that cause a "clicking" when the car rolls, almost like a universal would sound, I checked all the universals and they're tight.

Yeah, I got this same damn clicking noise. I happens at lower speeds (residential 25 MPH speed limit) and I thought it was the U-Joints. I replaced all the u-joints and still have this noise. I have lain under the car for hours looking for what could be loose and can not find any thing flopping / moving around.
I haven't done the rear diff's front mount, but I am thinking of going to the poly mount soon.
Can this be replaced with the Differential left in the car. I mean can you just pop the old one out and the new one in.
I realize nothing is that Simple but wishful thinking.
I have a 81 with a Automatic...
Yes, it can be done w/the diff still in the car. It's a bit of a pain b/c the bolt will have to come out and go in on an angle b/c of the driveshaft but it's doable.
