Default Suggestions please.

I am some what of a newbe to this corvette, been almost a year and learning everyday. I had carb rebuilt over winter and runs 10times better but not good enough, All I want to be able to do is make a little tire noise off the start. As hard as I try I can not get the tires to cherp even a little. Can any one give my some suggestions. Car runs great other then that.
I have a 1969, 350ci 300hp almost all stock.
Thanks

What's your timing setup?
This is critical, as it will directly control your perfomance level.
Find Lars' paper on tuning (you can pm me with a email and I can send it to you, or you can use the search function on the forum and find referecnes to it) and follow it, and if your carb is set up correctly, the car will definitely haul butt. You have a good base to work with, 300hp 69 cars make good power.

good luck,

trw

After your car is properly tuned you may want to look into changing your rear end ratio. What are you running now? If you want really good acceleration you may want to go with 3.55 or higher. Of course you'll be revving higher at highway speeds so there's a tradeoff unless you put in an OD. I swapped my 2.73 for a 3.36 which made quite a difference.

This is the understatement of the year... I made the exact same swap this spring. Amazing difference.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am headed in the right direction, I have the paper from Lars so I think I'll give the time a check, I am at idle only 9* from what I read I need to go higher and I plan on changing out my VA because I don't think the one I have is correct.
I did do some reading on the rear end change, but I think that way over my head, I'm going to start small, Like I said I'm new to all this,

Thanks again for suggestions.

If you have an auto trans you have to take advantage of the stall-brake torque. I did all kinds of things & until I learned how to drive it I couldn`t chirp the tires either, now with a 2500 stall tc & 3.70 rear gears I can light em up. I do`nt know why but I really wanted to be able to do that.

That what I want to, I just want to make something when I take off. I do anything within reason, The car I think is in great shape (thats how I bought it), So I don't want to do anything radical.

Is turning possible? That should spin the wheels too but don't work good at stop lights.
