Default anyone used this builder?

looking at this 383 short block, I would have to run dished pistons to get the compression around 9.6 to 1 with 64cc heads. I want to run on pump gas.

I have a lunati 292 duration 500 lift cam, 64cc ported 261 cammel humps, performer manifold with 600 holley double pumper, flowtech headers, true 2 1/2 duals with dynomax turbos. anyone have ideas on what horsepower might be with set up

Seems like a good short block at a good price. I guess the horsepower at the crank should be approaching 400, but that's just a guess. I'm not sure how good the old camel humps are in comparison to modern heads.

Unless the hump heads have good porting done to them, I would invest in a better set of heads, but thats my two cents. I was looking at there short block also and am considering buying from them also.

Default new heads later

The humps are ported nicely. I know there are much better heads out there but after all I have spent in the last month with the total overhaul and cam change I will live with them for a while longer.

Got my 383 block from them. Had the block zero decked and used 12cc dish pistons with TF 64cc heads to give about 10.2 CR. I also used an Eagle internal balance crank. Had them install the XE274 cam, so they made sure I had clearance.

I checked all bearing and piston clearances and deck height. Every thing was as listed on their spec sheet that came with the block. They were easy to work with. Kent Grover, the owner I believe, was who I worked with.

I saw their short block a few months ago and was wondering the same thing it looks like a good business to deal with
