Had to change my exhaust hanger today from 2" to 2.5", which required removing the crossmember and rear tranny mount (TH-400). The existing mount (rubber) is mush...appears to be original.
Since I have to get a new one...is the poly mount too rigid for street use? I'm not into performance, just cruising and don't want to hear/feel vibration thru the mount.
I would say that if you are still using rubber motor mounts then stay with the rubber. The torque of the engine with the rubber mounts may stress the poly mount more then it was designed for.

The tranny mount should be the same material or softer than the motor mounts. I run a poly motor mount on the driver side (sees the most torq) and rubber for the passenger side and trans mount, the eng barely moves but I could tell no difference in vibration.
