best rpms for setting timming
73' vette with 454. I am having problems with the backfire. with the idle at 5 the timing is between 8-10. If I adjust the idle screw the timing jumps up to the 12+. runs perfect a idle and light acceleration but backfires when gunned. all new plugs and wires. What is the best tach speed to time my car. Thanks This wire set up was from the original before the change and seems to work best. adjusting the plugs counter clockwise
