Default mystery part

While replaceing hoses on the vacuum system, I noticed this part screwed to the firewall that wasn't hooked up. The wiper door and headlights seem to work fine, so I'm not sure what this is.
Here are a few pics of it as it was mounted in the car:

and

and here it is out of the car:

Any help ID'ing this would be appreciated.

Aftermarket elec washer fluid pump? Looks like your washer motor is new which I believe has the pump built it, old one must have went south.

Great call, I agree especially because the wiper motor is not the original one with it's mechanical washer pump.

It's a guess, but I've seen external control values for positioning the EGR value -- if yours is new enough to have that. Since many defeat smog controls, it would make sense it isn't connected.

Or maybe not?

Definitely not a stock part though, right?

In that case, to the junk box!

C3nMe- sorry, I guess I should have mentioned it's a 1969...my bad.

Well, in a '69 it definitely isn't a EGR part -- as that didn't make an appearance until very late 70s or early 80s -- but definitely in the C3 run.

My knowledge doesn't extend to the 69s, so I'll bow out of this one (to be honest, my knowledge of the 77 I do own isn't bad but it isn't without holes)

Perhaps its a special powered deer whistle that continues after the vehicle stops to prevent deer from ever approaching your vehcile? <jk>

Well the wiper motor is definitly wrong. It's missing at least the headlight washer pump which should be on the drivers side of the motor.

So thats prolly what the mystery part is.

It looks a bit like a 12V air pump to me, like one out of a bike pump.
