Default 68 timing tab?

don't understand my timing tab on my 68 327 vette engine. the letters stamped look like "A", "O", and "R". other chevys have numbers in degree and "Before" and "After". Can anyone explain where 4 degrees BTDC would be?

A=Advanced, 0=0degrees, R=Retarded....In 2 degree incriments, I believe.
Where the white paint mark is 4 degrees BEFORE top-dead-center

Just make sure your harmonic dampner is for the 68 timing mark or you are around 18degrees off on you timing marks (they moved in 69-later motors.)
