Default Can I do this to my e-brake bracket?

I just installed Van Steel trailing arms and test fitted my C5 wagon wheels. The wheel is rubbing the upper corner of the parking brake bracket. Since the trailing arms are new rebuilt units and have a nice epoxy paint job, I don't want to relocate them. It looks as if I can clearance them to the wheel. I was thinking of simply grinding or cutting the upper corner back a little without compromising the integrity of the bracket itself. Is there any reason why this would not work?

Edit... I'm also using 2.5" wheel adapters with the C5 wheels.

Make sure you gain enough clearance for tire flex (which is probably not a lot with the low profile tires)

That's what I did to my bracket. Just the corner...you don't want to remove much material. You can safely grind the bracket down on the corners until they are at the same width as the shortest width of the bracket.

Lets see some pics when you do it. This is a popular question for those of us who don't know how wide a tire and wheel they can go with. What size tires are you mounting?

Thanks

I just asked Rockn-Roll to post a pic but I will too once I'm done. As for size, I'm mounting 8.5 x 17 C5 wagon wheels with either 245-50-17 or 255-50-17. The tires that came with the wheels are 245 but I want to go 255 if they fit and clear the brackets without more mods than a little grinding. It sure looks like I can clearance the bracket enough to make the wheels fit. Redbad79 makes a good point about making a little extra room for tire flexing although it appears that the bracket will only hit the wheel and not the tire. I'll clearance a little extra just in case.

It's the rim that hits not the tire. He'll be fine shaving the bracket a little bit.
