im running around 35-36 degrees. in my carb i have 92 jets! i boguth the car it was origanaly like a nascar or late model carb i bought form a nascar surplus store. my motor is a 355 like 11:1 compression, hydualic roller .550 lift cam both exhaust and intake, 236* at .50 lift, heads are flowed and im running victor and 750 cfm double pumper.what whould you guys recomend i know the timing is pretty much right but i was wondering about the jets mostly.
my setup is close to your's...i'm running 76's all the way around. And it is just a tad rich from idle to wot. I'm going to try swaping front's to 74's.
I am running a BG Mighty Demon 750 with 72/82 jets on my 406.
If you run a power valve you will want to step your jetting. A PV adds 8-10 jet sizes when needed.

He'd actually want to step DOWN the jetting when using a power valve. Not all double pumpers use a PV in the secondary and in these carbs, you'll find the rear jets larger than the fronts, which always use a power valve from the factory.
As to the jet size differential with and without a PV, it varies by the carb's calibration. It's anywhere from 6 to 15 jet sizes depending on the PV channel restrictors.
Though, it's a self-inflicted wound to defeat a feature that is intended to make the carb more suitable for part throttle driveability, which is where a street carb spends 95 percent of its time.

I actually had the exactly same jetting on my old 383 and it worked fine... 72 primary and 82 secondary jets..
On my 1000 cfm carb, I'm running 84 primary and secondary jets...
I'd try to go with 38 degrees timing.. 350's and 383's seem to like a bit more timing.. My 406 runs better with 36 degrees... but my 383 loved 38 degrees...
