How many of you that have installed the 200 4R have used the stock GM crossmember? If you did use it, were you able to route the exhaust through the stock crossmember or do you need to replace the crossmember?

I actually used the stock welded in 4-speed crossmember.. The tranny fit on it like a glove!!

I believe that after 1977, the crossmember design changed and you'll need a different crossmember.. 1977 and earlier, the stock crossmember will work fine!

I used my old one, bolted up perfectly. This is a '75 with TH400 originally.

I have an 80 and that was the year the cross members changed. I went with Bowties and still had to reroute the exhaust.

I used the stock crossmember. The exhaust has to be rerouted around the different transmission for my application, but the exhaust wasn't original replacement either.

Thank you. Was everyone able to make the exhaust fix by the trans and through the original crossmember?

I have sidepipes, so the exhaust was no concern for me..

I used the stok one and still have stock exhaust system, however, I don't have the support that was attached to the TH400 trans to hold the exhaust from rattleing. I don't notice it very often.
