I hate to do it but here is another headlight thread. None of my headlights turn on. I drove to a friends house with my lights on, stayed for a couple hours, left and turned on the headlights and nothing lit up. The interior lights work but none of the headlights. I read in the archives about the dimmer switch and headlight switch. Where is the dimmer switch located? I highly doubt this is the culprit since I always run my headlights on brights and I dont even have the dimmer hooked up through the column. Also I just took my volt meter and I am not getting any power at the connections to the headlights which would be the reason they dont turn on . I checked all the connections on the car and all of them are tight. One more thing, my left blinker is on very dim after all this happened, can this have something to do with it all? What should I check out first? Thanks.
Try turning the brights on and off several times and see if that helps anything, that happened to me...not sure why but it worked...also check the fuse and make sure you didn't blow a fuse.
There is no fuse for the headlights. The headlight switch has a built-in circuit breaker. You may need a headlamp switch or the connector on the switch may be loose.......................
No fuse even that controls headlights and blinkers and interior or any mix? Guess those few years do make a big difference in the way they wire these things.
Is there any way I can jump around the switch to see if it is the problem, cause I dont want to tear apart the whole dash to find out the switch wasnt the problem.
Take off the connector to the dimmer switch on the floor. The terminal with the light blue wire should have power when the headlight switch is on. If this is not the case, the problem must be in the switch or earlier. You can also run a jumper from the battery to the terminal with the tan wire. This should turn on the low beams. Running a jumper to the terminal with the green wire will turn on the high beams. If all of these check out, the problem likely lies with the dimmer switch.
