Default Differences in t-tops

Can anyone tell me the differences is between t-tops used on the C3 series of corvette's? Also what I would need to do to uses are early set of tops on my 1979. Thanks Gary B.

Early sets have two throw latches. Laters have one and a slide pin that goes to the rear. It is not easy to change between the two as the hardware is considerably different. However it is easier to put the later ones on the early cars because you can modify the rear socket to accept the pin.

Yes, with modifications to the car new ones can be used on older cars, and it does require swapping the rear plate. It might be the only solution if you want to install glass tops.

HOWEVER the look is not the same. Older fiberglass T-Tops have SS trim, newer tops do not.

I might be wrong, and please correct me if I am, but I think the change occurred in 77 or maybe 78.
