Default Head light problem. Need help fast

I've got a show tomorrow and tonight when I arrived home, the headlights did not go down when I shut them off. I had to manually assits the right light to come up when I turned them on for the first time this evening and then when I stopped for gas, I did not turn the lights off when I shut the motor down to pump, thus the lights did not go down when I pushed the lights off after the motor was shut off. When I got back into the car, I started it and then pulled the light switch to turn the lights on. Everything was fine until I got home and when I turned the lights off with the motor running, the lights went out but the doors did not shut. Up until tonight I have never have had any problems as I redid all the lines when the rebuild was done. Did I do something wrong and how do I correct it?

You probably have a vacuum leak in the h/l actuator system. The actuator seals or the vacuum relays may be leaking...

When i had that problem, I slipped my hand in between the grille and could manually pull them down. You didn't mention the year but feel around for a threaded bolt running horizontal. Gently tug on it and the covers should close.

Check to see if the hoses popped off. Mine are old but did have a problem with the wiper motor because of this. That one hose caused the lights to not function too.

Thanks Jughead. I just went out to the garage and did what you suggested and it worked perfectly. Damn, this forum is a godsend and you guys are great. Don't know what I would do without the forum and it sure has saved me alot of money and heartache.
