Oscillating Fuel gauge: Fixed
My fuel gauge would oscillate back and forth between 3/4 and 1/4 depending on how bumpy the road surface was. I had thought it was the fuel sending unit, but upon removal of the old fuel gauge, I saw what the problem was. The new fuel gauge needle was stiff when I gently moved it with my finger, the old gauge needle would move if I just blew on it. Some where inside the old fuel gauge something was broke or wore out--the new gauge solved the problem.
What a day! I replaced the four front speakers and installed a new fuel gauge--easy to say, but a PITA to do. But now, I'm gonna shower and pickup Nova and it's off to the mountains for the weekend!
With great stereo sound now!
Still ain't an easy fix, having to pull that dash a-part. I'll wait until i have to go in there for somthing else.
thanks for the tip.
