Problems with bracket on BB starter
The new block is a 1/2 inch fine thread bolt hole whereas the old block was a 7/16 hole or maybe smaller. The problem is that if just drill out the bracket to accept a bigger bolt, there won't be enough metal left to make it sturdy. I could just have soemthing fab'ed up but that is going to cost $$$ since I don't have a machine shop. Anyone else run into this problem? Oh, and by the way I was able to start it up for the first time the other day ( I made double sure that the timing was close because I didn't want to damage the block where the starter mounts up) I have never had so much nervous anticipation before! Man, sittin' there lopin' with those open headers.. inside my shop... let me tell you, it made all of the hair on the back of my neck stand on end!
