Default Steeroids ?

I have had steeroids on on my 68 for about a year and a half, and am just finally installing the power steering pump.

The hoses will hit the lower A arm when the car is lowered. Did anyone else have this problem? Any tricks? Any pics you may have showing routing of the hoses would be very helpful.

I just installed mine the other day and have not had a chance to drive it yet. But I did notice the same thing you are seeing. It looked to me the low pressure hose is a little too long. You can push it up on the pump a little further and it will clear or snip a bit off. The hard part is pushing that hose up onto the pump.

Eddie, I agree that the low pressure hose seems to be too long. I think I will cut that down. I have heard others complain about getting the low pressure hose on the pump. I have seen post where guys have drilled it out. I had a mechanic friend install my pump, and warned him about this. He said he heated the hose.

I also think the high pressure hose needs a different angle on the rack end...maybe 45 instead of 90??? I am going to e-mail speed direct to see if they have had others question this, and their solution. Following are some pics showing the condition as best I can.

BTW, I think you will like the Steeroids. It made mine a lot less frightening to drive. I am anxious to see how it drive with power behind it.

Bryan, it looks like you have close to the same condition I have. Did you cut the low pressure hose down? Any rubbing on the high pressure hose?

That is actually a picture from a magazine. That is the best example of how to install the hoses that I have seen.

Yes, I think BOTH hoses are about 1 inch too long. The return hose is WAY too stiff and does not fit over the barb very well.
