Installing New Exhaust from a box
If you order a new exhaust from one of the Corvette vendors, is it just a matter of bolting on in pieces? Or is there any welding that has to be done? I have heard of some people bolting on as much as they could , then taking it to a shop for some final adjusting??
Yes. I am a newbie. Just looking to save as much $$ as I can on a new exhaust.

I tend to rely on the muffler shop for installation of any kits. Past couple experiences required some 'bending' and 'fitting' and having the car on a rack with this being done helps alot.

All depends onthe person who bent them up. I've had exhaust I bought from NAPA that bolted right up and custom chambered pipes from a well known shop in the mid-west that were garbage. They were worthless and I had to have a good shop rebend most of them to fit. Look for local muffler shop that does performance cars and have them do the job while you wait. Do look around though as the chains hire and fire people on a daily basis and it seems the only requirement for employment is the ability to use a torch. If you can read a scale you're the manager, if you can read a dial caliper you just made area service rep!!!!!!
