Smog pump on 68 Small Block

Smog pump on 68 Small Block
I was told that all small blocks in 1968 came with smog pumps. Can anyone tell me if this is accurate or if not what is the real story. I'm looking at a 68 with a 327/300 with a smog pump. Thanks for your help.

I am the second owner of a very original 68 327/350. Mine has the smog pump bracket, which also holds the fuel filter, but no pump, manifolds not tapped for pipes, and the water pump pulley is a 2 groove. So I say not all small-block had pumps.

My California 1968 350HP/327 came equipped with a smog pump and of course the tapped exhaust manifolds. I think the California cars were required to have smog pumps, but the pumps were not required for many (all?) of the other states.

Thanks for your help. Very much appreciated. I'm flying to Lubbock tomorrow to hopfully close the deal. Wish me luck. This will be my first Corvette. It's a 68 327/300 rag top, 4sp, Safari Yellow/Black with air. If I close the deal I'll post pictures showing the car & the pump.

All '68s had 'em, from base hp to the largest hp.
