Default More hood clearance

I'm looking to get some more hood clearance for my 1970 big block... currently, the car has a Torker 2 intake manifold on it. I'm thinking about picking up a factory aluminum intake on either Ebay or at Carslile next weekend... how much more clearance will this get me? Are there certain casting numbers that are better than others? Also, what years will fit? I assume that any BBC manifold from the era will fit the block (i.e. 427 Corvette, LS-5, LS-6)?

Thanks,
Eddie

Ha! I'm not looking to go quite that extreme... I'm only looking for 1/2" to 1". As it currently sits, the air filter (with a drop base) lid needs a bolt to hold it down instead of a stud and wingnut - the head of the bolt gives me just enough clearance to close the hood! I'd like to un-Bubba it...

Do not go to the corvette factory big block manifold. It is a low rise design and would be significantly less powerful than what you're currently using.
Get an L88 hood or glass a scoop on.
