Track rats...On 400+ hp. engines, what diameter exhaust pipes are you using? Backed up with dyno. info? TIA

3 1/2 inches
got 3 1/2" pipes back under car on 598 c.i. BB with almost 900 hp

I definitely would choose 2 1/2 dual exhaust with Dynomax or something alike...and later if you tune more you might weld in cutout right after collectors like I have...

I am around 420 HP on mine and the 2 1/2 works fine. The guy who built my exhaust said a good 2 1/2 system will work until about 500 HP. A lot depends on motor size and rpm you will be running. I turn 6500 to 7000 rpm on a 350 motor.

Dad's track engines all turned in over 700 hp before the 200 shot of nitrous. He ran Hooker super comp sidemounts wide open.

I went from 3" exhaust to 2.5" exhaust and picked up over 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile even with the full exhaust weight penalty.
