Default Engine hoist mounting points for BB?

Where is the prefered spot on a BB to attatch the chain for lifting the engine and installing it in the car? I know some people use the plate that mounts to the carb opening and then they lift from there. Are those holes in an aluminum intake really strong enough to support the weight of a fully assembled BB?

Thanks

You should be able to bolt a leveler to holes in the front and backs of the heads, no? I'm not familiar with big blocks, but that's what I did with my small block. I'd be afraid to use the carb mounting holes on the intake myself . . .

I've only pulled SBs and I used bolts in the ends of the heads. I'd be afraid to use the intake as well.

I've always used the bolt holes in the front and back of the heads on my big blocks. But. oh wait, looks like you have alum. heads.

A 4 chain leveler is best, 1 on each head corner. No strain on anything. I've put BB's with trans in this way....

Oh yeah, if it were me, I would also use grade 8 bolts as well since there will be only four bolts holding all of that weight. It gave me extra peace of mind when I pulled my engine. . .

The other added bonus of using a leveler is that it should make it easier to get the engine in and out since you can tilt it back and forth by adjusting the leveler. . .
