Default Vacumn Modulator Line

I am in the process of finishing up my engine and transmission installation on my 1977 l-48 turbo 350 and I was trying to route the metal vacumn modulator line up the back side of the engine to where it hooks up to a vacunm sourse. The way I have it routed it is close to the distributor and kind of facing in a vertical position. It sure looks wrong to me but it lines up in the back of the tranny to the modulator. Can you guys tell me where it is supposed to come up from the back of the engine? and how the line should point? Thanks

There should be a tap in the intake manifold with a fitting that has three male ends on it. Between the distributor and carbruator. The center male end is vertical to the manifold and will have a rubber connector on it about an inch long. The vacuume modulator line pushes all the way into the fitting and the rubber connector seals it up.
The other two male ends on the fitting goes to the heater controls/headlights and the cruise control.
