Default TCS Hook up
My 72 LT-1 like most does not have the smog system.Does the TPS sensor on the right head need to be hooked up.If so what is it's function?

No it does not. It is designed to not allow the vacuum advance until it hits the correct temperature. Very primative smog system. Leave the wiring off and run a vacuum line directly to the port it is hooked up to. Do not run the vacuum line through the valve. Better yet just remove the valve unless you are going to be in NCRS.
