Default Trying to decode engine pad

I am hoping someone has the resources to tell me the origin of the engine in my car. This is what is on the engine pad:
V0504TDR
08F184917

Can anyone tell me what car this engine originally came out of?

Are there any books that might tell me?

Thanks for any help.

TDR indicates a 1972 or 1980 truck block (350). V is the pant code for the Flint (Michigan) engine assembly plant. 0504 is the assembly date. 08F184917 would be the number stamped at the vehicle assembly plant and would include part of the VIN of the truck this engine originally went in to.

Thanks, that definitely helps. I tried last night to read the casting number and date of the block using a mirror & flashlight but couldn't see anything, I'll have to try again tonight.
