How would I adjust the clutch? It's really tight.... it's pretty easy to push in, then gets tough, then is easy again near the floor. Ideas? Suggestions?
Does the clutch work okay as far as engaging/disengaging to the engine? Hopefully it does.
On the clutch linkage there is an adjustment nut that basically allows you to set at what point the clutch pedal pushed the clutch. If you look under the hood just above the oil filter (or around there somewhere) you will find it. You could play with this, just mark/remember where it was when you started so you can always get back to the start.
Make sure the fork isnt hitting the footwells. I donno what happened, or went wrong, but someone put a clutch in my car and I had a problem of the fork hitting the footwells. It actually cracked the glass. The engine and trans soon came out, never did take it apart to see why it did that.
if its mechanical linkage and like my '69 then there is a grease fitting on the linkage. and a bad motor mount can really mess with the clutch if the engine has moved at all.
