I think a NOS system for my all stock 80 L82 with low miles would be fun! Who has one ? Which system did you use? Tell me about your fuel delivery.

I bought 10lb bottle, nitrous and fuel solenoids, braided line, and jets + purge kit from a friend that had it on his 96 formula amd I bought a carb plate, RPM activated switch, and some switches and it works great

It's pretty safe as long as you use all the satety switches. The problem most people have is, you never can get enough. If a 100 is cool, then 125, then 150, then weak link finder. Ask me how I know.

Just be ready with enough money in the bank to cover an engine rebuild. Nitrous is great when everything works perfectly. All it takes is one leaky nitrous solenoid to waste your engine.

Is that a wet system? How did you deliver fuel to the system?

its a wet system I put a tee adapter fitting in the line that goes from the fuel pump to the carb, and the other end in to the fuel solenoid it works great

You should always shut the bottle off when the system is not in use.

That's great in theory until someone or something distracts you and you forget to shut the bottle, go about your business, come back and go boom when you start your car.

A buddy did that recently. He had been religious about shutting off the bottle, but got distracted because there were a lot of people around. His car is on a trailer heading to an engine builder right now.

I know a little about the juice myself. I ran over 100 15# bottles through my ZR-1 before "I" screwed up and burned an exhaust valve. The juice is not forgiving. One mental lapse and you will be whipping out your check book.

Easy fix to that is always removing the bottle from your car when you get home... My bottle sits on a shelf in my garage until I use it...

Or always unhook the line....

To the guys who leave it in your car all the time you are asking for trouble.... GETS HOT IN THE CAR that can raise the pressure of the bottle.

Or you can buy a remote bottle opener...

I leave mine in my car. I do have a blow down tube connected to it though just in case. Hasn't blown yet

Saves electricity from having to heat it.

The highest the pressure has gotten in mine was around 1180 and I still had to purge it to get it down to 1000. I can somewhat regulate it by opening and closing the rear compartment shade in the summer.

I think the burst disks hold to around 2500 psi. Worst case scenario is you would loose your nitrous, unless your like that idiot on the net that blew the back end of his car apart by using 2 or 3 burst disks stacked together and left his heater on overnight.

is there a video of that
I leave mine in the car and I always have my rear compartment shade closed and I have no heater plus I have a battery disconect so I'm used to having to do something after I get to my destination

I was going to go in this direction with my low mileage 80 also... instead chose to have the engine built into a 383 with high compression... no worries and all the power I could want (for now). At least I don't have to worry about any bottles or running out of juice.

Will probably go with NOS at some point now that the engine is ready for it. We'll see.
