When installing header wrap is it better to remove them or just wrap them on? There is a kit from summit that includes a spray can of something, is it necesary or just for looks?
It keeps the heat inside the pipes and out the exhaust.
This is supposed to help the engine run better and it also helps cut down on the temps in the engine and passenger compartments.
Far better to do it off the car. I think it would be impossible to do on the car anyway. Also a tip. Soak the wrap for at least 15 minutes in water before wrapping. The wrap will be so much more pliable. I really like the stuff

I couldn't even imagine how horrible that would end up looking. I used the exact kit you are looking at earlier this summer. Made by DEI. I used the spray. Now my header wrap is black. I think that's the only reason for it. I took Norval's advice and soaked the wrap before installing it. You should do the same.
