On my 78 about every 2 weeks my car wont start because of a week battery connection. I have to tighten the positive cable just as tight as I can get it for it to start. I've checked the connections and there isn't any corrosion or dirt on them. I was thinking about maybe spraying them with WD-40 or something like that would fix it.
Are you sure you don't have a bad solder connection between the connector and cable. Through time it may have some corrosion or broken solder. I'm sure others may have a few suggestions also.

Are you saying your positive connection at the battery gets loose? Once tight it should stay tight. Are the threads stripped on the cable 'bolt' or perhaps the battery has stripped threads? It shouldn't get loose on its own.
If the connections are free of dirt & oxidation then WD40 isn't going to do much for ya.
