Newbie Question here. Please help

Theft light blinks when I lock the doors and exit the vehicle. (a good thing) When I return and put the door key in everything is fine. When I put the ignition key in and turn it to start the horn blows. What am I doing wrong? Ill give you a second to stop laughing at me and then you can reply. LoL
