Default Where is my Tach Filter?

I'm ready to tackle the tach repair job and want to locate and test the tach filter before I purchase a new tach circuit board. Can someone tell me where it is using the attached picture.

Plenty of tach filter info on this thread. (and others)

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=913235

Quote from that thread: The filter is located at the rear of the intake manifold, bolted to one of the rear bolts, drivers side. (at least on mine) It looks like a typical round metal can filter cap with a wire at each end and a tab welded to the side which is used as the mounting point.

There is some debate as to the purpose of the filter, Some say its for protection, I believe it simply for noise filtering. Some people are running with no filter, no problems. If you replace the filter with a 10K ohm resistor, and the tach still doesn't work, its probably not the filter.

It's supposed to be where kilroy says, looks to be not there in your pics (black X below, that's where it is on my car). Maybe someone moved it, or got rid of it completely. It's a little silver cylinder the size and shape of an M-80 (if you remember your fireworks from highschool )

If you follow the lead from the BLACK clip on the dist (purple arrow below), that's the tach signal lead. That wire goes to the filter, then goes to the tach.
