my 1978 is Thumping!
Hi: finally get to get my car out, and after it gets warmed up, i am getting a thumping sound from back passenger side. I dont think it is the brakes, but possibly the half shaft. I am no mechanic, and know very little. It starts thumping, when i put brake on and am coming to a stop. Then also thumps a little when i go to pull out. I tried putting into neutral when coming to a stop, and seems like it may stop it a little? or my imagination!!! LOL am afraid of breaking down somewhere. Also, have to use starting fuluid to get started. After it gets warmed up, and i turn off, it starts right up with no problem. Also boggs out, when i smash gass pedal to floor. Then it goes pretty good. A freind mentioned an accelorator pump? is this a possiblity, or is it hard to replace? I am no mechanic, but also am not the dullest star in the sky.
