Exhaust clamps
I would like to make it easier to remove my dual exhaust system. Can I cut the exhaust in front of the center crossmember and reconnect the two pipes with those Stainless band clamps in place of regular pipe clamps. The pipes would be butt jointed not slip joint. Are the clamps designed to work that way?

I would suggest welding flanges onto the ends of these pipes.(like Motorhead)...six bolts the system comes out. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get a good seal with those stainless clamps unless the pipes slip over each other.

I would suggest doing a slip joint w/ mating tabs on each side that you can put a little bolt through. Just a little hi temp rtv to properly seal the joint, slip the whole deal together and secure w/ the little bolt and presto.
Something like that but not w/ springs but the tabs extending on each side so they meet in the middle (at the joint) and then w/ a little bolt through it. (Can't find a pic of it)
