I wonder if switching from my ET STreet 28 x 13.5 - 15 to ET DRAG 28 x 10.5W would make a difference in my ET's?? I know that the sidewalls on ET Streets are stiffer than ET Drag's...
Has anybody done the switch? Did the switch cause any changes in your ET?
Go with whatever hooks right. you want the tire to give a little when you hit that trans brake or you will throw rear end pieces all over. If your et streets hook up then keep them, if not then try et drags. but then you have all but eliminated your car as a street driver.

I have a Tom's 12 bolt setup and I shouldn't be breaking any parts with the trans brake...
The ET Streets hook perfect on a good prepped track, but I do get some spin on a slick track... I only race brackets and slicks are legal in that class, so I won't have to worry about having street legal tires on the car..
I don't have a summit Cat here. Or else I could give you the number of my GoodYear low burnout compound. I've never understood the logic of using less traction tires on dedicated race only wheels.
The wrink wall is a parts saver with transbrakes or manual trannys.
Like this past weekend I watched the 10 inch slicks street car drags. they had a couple of cars in one class running under 7 seconds.
Take a look at these records. It proves that with proper chassis you can get fast times with smaller width slicks.

A stiffer sidewall tire will support a better 60' time, but as gull said wrinkle walls are easier on suspension parts. We have gone 9 seconds with a 1.52 - 60' on 9" Hoosier Quick time pros. They are just as consistent as the 11" M&H slicks that we have so we prefer to run the smaller tire. The point being that the harder that you hit the tires and plant the rear end is where the best traction lies. Try out the trans brake and see if the 60' times don't drop using the tires that you have.
