chris.
this is what canada does to your corvette.the other side of the frame is solid.the ****** who owned this car kept shovelling snow onto one side as it was in the corner of his driveway for five years(he thought it wouldnt rot because it was fibreglass..duh?).all the salt ate the frame.if you think thats bad you should see the lower birdcage....oh wait i forgot, there is nothing to see.the bigger the battle the better the story.
I'm sure with a little creative fabrication and welding you can fix that up Keep the pics coming as you progress! I've been tempted to frame-off mine as it's the only way to really fix some stuff and to clean everything up nicely. Maybe in another 10 years
Keep us informed, I have a friend that bought a project car from a guy who believe it or not, used it to launch his friggin' jet-ski. I live in southeast Louisiana so the water is salt water..... You get the picture. Good luck and keep us informed.
Hey! Just thought of something. We need to get the snow shoveler and the jet-ski guy together. Between the two of them we may be able to make one idiot.
I'm doing my first "body off" and thought I was in a world of trouble. Then I saw yours... Not to rub it in but YOU are giving me motivation to work. When I see people that have it worse than me and end up with a great car. It just keeps me going.
Best of luck!

Good job, nice to see your work at restoring a great car. I hope to do the same some day. I was feeling pretty bad about the rust on my 76 but after seeing those pictures mine looks pretty good,(sorry). Good luck on the repairs, I look forward to seeing your progress. Thanks for the pictures.
Chris, seeing your pics made me feel better about my upcoming frame off that i've been dreading oh-so much, but seeing the condition of your frame, and also reading that you are still gonna go through with it, makes all my fears seem like nothing...thanks for the encouragement and keep those pics coming of your progress and Good Luck!!!

It looks like you have a good start at your project. If the other frame is in good shape, clean it, paint it, and then start transferring your good stuff over to the new frame.
Be sure to keep posting pics, they will document your progress and we all like to watch these vette projects going on anyway.
