Has any of the weekend do it yourselfers in here ever installed a new top on a 68-72 vert? I was thinking about do it myself, I am a moderate do it myselfer and was just wondering if anyone knew of any books or websites that may be helpful. Let me know...thanks.
Just did my 69 a couple of weeks ago and it was my first time. I used Al Knoch video and would highly reccomend it. I took my time and watch the video at every step and it turned out great.
I already installed three C3 convertible tops.. The first time that I did it, I just followed the instructions that came with the top.. The 2nd and 3rd time, I didn't need any more instructions.. Pretty much straight forward job.. First time it took me 6 hours.. The second and third time it only took about 3 hours...
I have installed two tops. The first time i did it alone, and i will not recomment that. Ask a friend to help you, sometimes its recommend to have 4 hands when you installing the top
I've installed a top on 2 Alfa Romeos and they turned out pretty well. Well, I can say I'm glad I learned on someone else's cars but still they looked good. The most important thing I learned, the name of the game is TIGHT. No matter how tight it is, it needs to be tighter. Evenly tight. Just take your time and it'll be fine.

Just got finished with mine yesterday. Looks pretty good IMO. Like someone said above, there will be times when you need 2 sets of hands and another set of eyes helps too. For me the hardest part is getting the top in the rear bow.
