EGR valve removal

anyone know what would happen if anything, if i took off the egr valve and blocked it off. not sure if its keeping the 78 from running rough but im not sure if im hurting anything by removing it? any help would be great.

I blocked mine off when I rebuilt my motor two years ago. Motor runs just fine without it. Go for it

Your only issue will be passing the visual test for emmisions. It will also slightly increase you NO's output.

no problems with that i have antique plates so there is no inspection.

I blocked off the ERG on my '77 a year ago and haven't had any problems. When I get my original valve covers cleaned up, it'll be going back on. There were some clearance issues with the super-cheap chrome covers.
