power door lock question
My 79 passenger door lock is puzzling me. I have replaced the accuator motor. removed everthing and cleand & oiled including the door lock assembly. With the car running the accuator works fine but with the car off the accuator struggles to lock and unlock. The ground on the door panel has been cleaned. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this......drivers side works fine.

the problem might also be if the door is sagging because of worn hinge pins and bushings. try wiggling your drivers door up and down by putting your hand under the door and lifting. I did this plus clean and lube everything and i have funtioning door lock, whereas i did not for years.

My 80 was just like that when I bought it. I bought new actuators and that worked for about a year or so. It is intermittently doing it again. I have just learned to live with this annoying litte Vette quirk for now.
